LeakyCon 2012
Chicago, Illinois. The Hilton Chicago
!Welcome! [  ]

If you're here, chances are you'll be attending LeakyCon 2012! (If not, maybe next year?)

First and foremost, I would like to clearify that this blog is not the official LeakyCon Tumblr, and that I am just an attendee trying to help others out with as much as I can from my past experience at LeakyCon 2011.

The entire purpose of this blog is for Tumblr Users attending LeakyCon to have a space to meet one another, make friends and ask (me) questions!

There's a big list of people who are attending, to add your name to this list, just send me a message with your 1. Name, 2. Type of registration and 3. Your URL!

If LeakyCon 2012 is your first con, this blog might be super helpful for you! I made a list of items that you should think about bringing, as well as how to best organize your time so you can participate in all the things LeakyCon has to offer.

Feel free to ask me any questions you'd like, I'm here to help! :)
I have a question about budgeting... as a first timer and also English I'm not sure how much money to take... if you take out flights, hotel and registration(regular not rockstar) how much would you advise taking to eat/drink for the entire con (including the 8th and 13th) plus buying merch plus keynotes(the extra paid events) If you tell me in dollers I can convert it to English.

My personal experience I only ended up eating dinner throughout the con. I ended up staying 2 extra days because we were in Orlando so my family and I went to Disney and stuff, but not counting those days I probably spent over $60 for dinners only. But that’s only because the only place I ate was the hotel restaurant and those tend to be expensive. So if you plan on eating at least 2 meals a day, and neither of those meals are hotel restaurant meals, you’d probably be set with about $60 of money for food.

Buying merch all depends on how much YOU want to buy. I spent almost $100 on Starkid and Vlog Brothers stuff, but I planned ahead on buying that much. You have to decide if you want to buy a lot before going to the con, that way you have an idea. If you’re a Starkid or Nerdfighter, just go to their website and see how much things cost to get a good idea of what you’ll be buying and how much you need. I’d say $100 is enough to buy a good amount of stuff.

As for they keynotes, we don’t know how much each keynote is going to cost. If you’re a Rockstar it’ll be included, but if not expect to pay around $30 for each Keynote you want to have.

So with merch and food, it’ll be $160, plus the unknown amount you’ll have to pay for each keynote. Assuming they’re $30 each and they’ll only have 2, you’re total cost will be about $200.
